Dow and Hydrauvision working together on safety
Fall protection system used worldwide As part of a major upgrade of access facilities at its site in Terneuzen, Dow recently began using a new control platform on which trucks are weighed and visually inspected. For reasons of safety, the platform incorporates a customised Hydrauvision fall protection system. This system was designated 'most effective technology' and has since been used worldwide.
The Dow branch in Terneuzen has been there for over 45 years. The heart of the operation is a series of cracking plants that produce ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. These products are key building blocks for a wide range of plastics and chemicals, including latex for the carpet and paper industries, polystyrene for household equipment, polyethylene for applications such as coating drink cartons, and styrofoam insulation for use in roofs, floors and walls. These products are used in the construction, foodstuffs, transport, paper, maintenance and electronics sectors as well as in the home and in health care.
